Once, the Umbrella Academy was unstoppable. Under the tutelage of their guardian and mentor, Dr. Reginald Hargreeves, its members spent their childhoods fighting evil and honing their extraordinary gifts.

Until something went terribly wrong.

Now, nine years later, the estranged members of the Umbrella Academy are reunited by the death of the only parent they've ever known and the rise of a new and terrible threat. Will they be able to overcome their history for long enough to save the world-one more time?

Conceived and written by Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance), Umbrella Academy features interior art by Eisner Award-nominated artist Gabriel Ba (DeTales), colors by Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart, and covers by multiple-Eisner Award-winning painter James Jean (Fables).

The Umbrella Academy Apocalypse Suite #1 eBook Gerard Way Gabriel Ba Reviews

  • I'm not much of a comic book reader, but I was intrigued by the characters and wanted to see how they panned out and developed in the comic books. I like them. Each character is developed enough to stand on their own, but also leaves enough room open to implant myself in, and relate. I find myself connecting a little bit to each character. It is really a driving force that engages me in this story.
  • I am a BIG MCR fan, and to see/read GW’s never ending talent spill out of his mind and onto a series is truly a thing of beauty. I can hardly wait to continue reading more of his new creations! Amazing start 👍🏻☠️🧚‍♀️. My youngest daughter read all of them! She loved it ☺️
  • Not what i thought it would be. It is not the full series like it promised. The art is sub par, and does not fill in the blanks of the tv series.
  • Didn’t do much to further the story, more an isolated adventure, with not much time to do anything. Still looking for an origin story.
  • Hopefully we can see more about the magician? He looks like a very interesting character, it’s nice to know there will be more academy comic books.
  • A very interesting, short adventure for the Umbrella Academy. I am eager to read the rest.
  • Sets up the characters well, setting the stage as well for the unfolding story …
  • Creative interesting. Great music. Just right amount of retro references ideas
