TWO PLANE TICKETS, NO PLAN, ONE DREAM

Happier Than A Billionaire shares one couple's celebration of risking it all for the dream of living a happier life.

In this humorous and witty account, Nadine Pisani shares what it is like to follow her dream of quitting her job and starting a new life under the sunny skies of Costa Rica. Along the way, she finds reliable utilities are not that reliable, quirky neighbors are unavoidable, and tackling red tape takes the strength of a linebacker.

But with all its challenges, you'll learn why Costa Rica is ranked as one of the happiest places on earth. If you've ever considered risking it all to start over in a tropical place—or just enjoy a little armchair travel—this is the book for you.

PDF Happier Than A Billionaire Quitting My Job Moving to Costa Rica and Living the Zero Hour Work Week eBook Nadine Hays Pisani

"I finished reading this book about a week ago on my Kindle and absolutely loved it! I simply could not put it down and it only led to me buying (and also really enjoying) Nadine’s second book, (“The Sequel”) and third book (“The Escape Manual”.) I would read the book at night before bed after a long day of work and would find myself fighting to stay up later to try and get deeper into the book.

To give you an idea of just how much I loved this book, I am literally typing this review right now from a bed and breakfast just outside of the San Jose airport in Costa Rica as I landed here late last night. I did not choose to read Nadine’s book because I was thinking about calling Costa Rica home. I came to Costa Rica because a friend suggested that I read “Happier than a Billionaire” and I connected so much with Nadine and her husband, Rob’s, story that I decided to come here to explore it as a place to call home in the near future.

Nadine is a fantastic story-teller. She is hilarious, with a great sense of humor, but she does not sugar-coat anything. She is direct and to the point about the challenges of Costa Rica including pot holes and road issues, dealing with the complexities of moving to a new country and the specific challenges that the Costa Rican government and culture present in terms and how they are constantly on “Tico Time”, etc.

I am inspired by Nadine’s resolve despite the issues that she and Rob have faced in Costa Rica. They realized that the “life” of a big house, nice cars, etc. they were living in the United States wasn’t doing anything but literally sucking the “life” out of them and that regardless of what adversity they faced, they are going to make it work and carve out their own piece of paradise together."

Happier Than A Billionaire Quitting My Job Moving to Costa Rica and Living the Zero Hour Work Week eBook Nadine Hays Pisani Reviews

  • My goal isn't to quit my job and move to Costa Rica. My dream is to actually quit my job, buy a sailboat and go live in the Caribbean. Last year, my wife and I traveled to Ecuador for our 25th anniversary. The trip awakened my mental memoirs and I fondly remembered my traveling exploits in Europe and the Mediterranean from my early twenties. Once again, I was bitten by the travel bug (or tick) and it had firmly latched ahold. So, for the past year I've been reading the tomes of various writers who have literally jumped ship from the daily grind and started living once again. I first read this book last November when I picked up the kindle edition. I immediately felt a kinship with Rob as my employment can appear like a lifeless, soul sucking, vampiric succubus as well.

I was intrigued as much by the decisions made to simply pick up and just leave everything behind as I was of the recounted new Costa Rican adventures (or perhaps misadventures might be more appropriate). I was pleasantly captivated enough to finish the book in one setting.

In the past year I've read a myriad of books with regards to ex-pats pulling up stakes and moving everywhere from Argentina to Zimbabwe (I know, who moves to Zimbabwe? But they're out there). However, this is the book that continued to pop up during conversations about the subject at my place of employment (amongst those longing for a remodeled life).

Is it the next great American (Costa Rican) novel? No, but it is a fun read. While, it doesn't cover the logistics of moving to Costa Rica it managed to pique my interest enough that Costa Rica is now my back-up plan if my sailing adventure fails to catch wind.

After a wonderful Thanksgiving meal today with my family. I retired to the couch, kindle in hand, for another subliminal getaway. This book appeared at the top of my reading list. My travel desire rekindled, I fondly began to reread the novel while enviously yearning to live my life more fully.
  • I chose to read this book because of the subject matter. Relocating to another country and travel stories interest me, I love to hear stories of other traveler's experiences and find it fascinating how other people view different cultures. I did not expect to be laughing out loud while reading this. I absolutely love the way she writes. We had traveled to Costa Rica and Panama ourselves and so much of what she described in her travels were things that we saw and experienced. It was fun to re-live some of our trip. I can't wait to read the second book!
  • This book is very inspirational. As a blossoming day-trader, I wanted to find a paradise such as Costa Rica to call home. I am not there yet, but this book demonstrates, with a bit of patience and perseverance, that it can done. Thank you Nadine for writing this masterpiece. And for all the people wondering if there's something better out there than our materialistic, self-obsessed country, spend the few bucks and get this book NOW! It would be unimaginably difficult to regret it.
  • I have never laughed so hard when reading a book! Nadine has a sense of humor like I do! I could see myself in her shoes while reading this book. I am so glad I have been at home while reading her books because I would have not been able to ready this book while in public because of my out bursts of laughter! I am currently reading her 2nd book right now and I am trying hard not read it so fast because I don't want it to end..... Thank you Nadine for making me laugh, I will definately recommend it to all my friends. Just so you know, I found this book by seeing her Facebook pictures & posts on a friend Facebook page.
We recently vacationed in Lahina (Maui), Hawaii and would love to retire in a few years to an island or at least a year around warm climate, we are tired of the midwest weather, however, I am not brave enough to move to another country that speaks a different language! I admire your strength and humor! I hope you are planning on writing another book soon!
  • I finished reading this book about a week ago on my and absolutely loved it! • Funniest Book Ever! I am now on Book 3! This series had me hooked by the first page. I love the author's ability to tell a good story and describe situations with accuracy, enthusiasm, and emotion. That she throws sarcasm in there too makes her stories first person, yet multi-dimensional. Love'in this series and I hope my Super Hubs and I can rent a few nights in their guesthouse the next time we visit CR!

The Syrian Jewelry Box A Daughter&rsquos Journey for Truth eBook Carina Sue Burns Kenneth W Christian Reviews

  • In The Syrian Jewelry Box, Carina Sue Burns describes remarkable journeys, both physical and mental. Her descriptions about life growing up in Saudi Arabia are vivid and evoke the carefree adventures of a kid living in a unique foreign place. The shattering of her self-esteem after learning about her adoption at the age of 15 was heartbreaking, and only made more painful by the inability of her parents to guide her through that difficult mental journey. Instead, they took her on many physical excursions to amazing places in the Middle East and Europe. Carina effectively describes how those experiences intertwined with her own emotional and spiritual transformations. This book includes conversations to help make the travels feel alive and pull the reader in. She sprinkles in just enough historical information to make the reader feel awe about the rich and exotic experiences she had. The book is easy to read and would be good for any family – I highly recommend it.
  • Reading "The Syrian Jewelry Box" brought back a flood of wonderful memories of my own time spent in Jeddah. Carina is spot-on in her descriptions of life in Saudi Arabia at the time.
Carina is truly blessed to have traveled extensively, and to have experienced many wondrous opportunities her parents afforded her while growing up in a faraway, exotic land.
I caught myself holding my breath over Carina's internal struggles to find her real father, and hoping that she would finally accept her dad as one and the same.
I highly recommend this book, and truly feel it would be great material for a stellar movie!!
  • The Syrian Jewelry Box is an excellent memoir exploring the cultural intricacies of being an American girl growing up in Saudi Arabia and the difficulties that arise when she discovers that she and her family are not who she believed they are. It's a deeply detailed true story of adventure and self-discovery, conveyed with warmth and honesty. I definitely recommend this book.
  • Whether we realize it or not, we are all on a journey to discover the truth about ourselves - that we are loving, loveable, and loved. Carina's journey to that truth is a most unusual one in that it also physically spans a journey through many foreign countries at a very young age. I delighted in learning about these different cultures through a child's eyes, and seeing how embracing them helped Carina find the courage to embrace the truth about herself. I read with tears of joy as she rediscovered the beautiful, loving, and lovable person she always has been and always will be.

  • Beautiful book tells the reality beautiful and important in the life of the writer .. and I see it as a unique and distinctive experience to the writer that the Arab world witnessed, especially in the city of Jeddah, which I thought crossroads of cultures and civilizations ... in all honesty the writer has a good spirit and seeks to spread the love and affection and peace between the Western and Arab worlds ... especially that the writer grew up in the Arab world and has a great background and insight into the world about it .. I wish to the writer a good luck and success and I thank her that allowed us access to an important part of her life ..
  • This book was description after description of places the author had lived and visited with almost nothing about her experience of being adopted by her stepfather. Although I enjoyed the history lessons it wasn’t why I bought this book.
  • Vivid, aromatic slices of a journey into the heart and depth of love, betrayal, and acceptance of the childhood fairytale abruptly shattered by the discovery of being adopted. I recommend this wonderful, well-written account of Carina's journey to find peace, forgiveness, acceptance, and unconditional love.
  • Carina-
It is a wonderful story, I feel, about a young girl in search of herself who develops into a caring loving adult. I was spellbound, of course, during your time of telling about Jeddah.
The sights, sounds and smells rushed back into my mind as I read your description of the souk. But having never travelled much through Europe, I particularly enjoyed seeing through your eyes and the memory of your father the beauty of Europe. Thank you for asking me to read it. I most definitely will recommend it to several Jeddah friends and to my family.

  • Be ready and open to explore and manifest the life you dream of. Sarah’s book is honest and direct how we are all worthy of all the blessings life has to offer. And to always remember we have energy to create our own reality. A go to daily resource even after you read through for the first time. A must have book for your awe inspiring journey.

A definite must buy for those who need a little help to see the wonder and beauty in life
  • The journey toward manifesting the best possible life takes realizing that you’re meant to have that life. Dear Universe is a collection of meditations, and expertly curated modes of change that address challenges based on the thought cycle you may be struggling with at the moment. It’s a brilliant way to structure a book because we all need that jolt of perspective now and again. You should buy this book to help you better understand the deep energetic nature of your feelings, thoughts and behavior patterns. You can read this book at your sunniest times to deepen gratitude, ir st your lowest to gain a soul changing perspective.
  • Love, love, love it. Very well organized to find exactly what I want to read about, very insightful. I like that I can read it for a few minutes or a few hours and still be able to get the most out of the content.
  • This book is a wonderful and thoughtful guide through the emotions you are feeling right now and it helps you move through feelings like fear and anxiety to abundance, gratitude and love. Sarah Prout brings her personal experiences to her readers in such an authentic and honest way. She creates a sacred safe place to be and grow.

When I am feeling nervous, anxious, or disconnected, I just open the book to one of those emotions and Sarah meets me there with her wisdom and powerful meditations. I never have to feel bad or wrong about what I am feeling. Then, on the same page, I am offered an alternative, love based emotion. It's like an instant soul reboot.

Since putting into practice the techniques Sarah teaches, I've strengthened my intuition and learned to honor myself, acknowledge my emotions, and move through them with confidence and power. I've learned to embrace every situation as a growth opportunity for my soul and it feels amazing.
  • I have mixed feelings about this book after skimming several pages. I do like the layout with negative emotions/positive emotions and cross referencing one to the other to provide a more positive outlook. I do find the inclusion of affirmations to be beneficial. However, I could do without the inclusion of her the author’s personal stories woven into it. To me, overall the book feels very superficial and is not overly impressive. If you want a handy guide (though this is a rather large book considering) to reference on the fly for finding a positive affirmation to meditate on I think it will suffice for that. But, other than that the most attractive thing about it is the pretty cover.
  • This book is as beautiful on the outside as it is in the inside. I reccomend it to anyone who is having a bad day and feeling down, as well as the ones having a good day and feeling up. Sarah Prout is an absolutely wonderful person, and an inspiration. Thank you.
  • The book is beautifully designed and easy to read and search for the emotion you need. The 1st 100 mini-meditations are fear based and it seems like when you open the book it's to the emotion you need to read there is a mini meditation at the end and Sarah has listed 3 love base emotions to look at after reading the fear based emotion. I loved it so much I have bought 2 more and shared them with friends that I thought needed them and would love them and they have. It really is a amazing book. Sarah thank you for writing it and sharing your experiences.
